Some good news for homeowners and businesses from Chelan Fire and Rescue. The district's Chief Brandon Asher, says the district had a rating performed on it last year:
And Asher says much of the improvements made due to the approval of the fire levy more than a year ago were a factor in how that inspection turned out:
And the Chief says that's good news for homeowners and business owners down the road:
That improvement also goes for Chelan Falls and up to Union Valley; in fact, anywhere within five miles of the Wapato Avenue Fire Station is now in a protection class five. That goes for everywhere except on the south shore; fire Commissioner Phil Moller says that's because the South Shore Fire Station has no volunteers. Once it gets some volunteers, Moller says that area's protection class will be improved as well.
