CHELAN CONSIDERING FIVE-YEAR "ACTION PLAN"

The City of Chelan is looking at starting the process on a five-year action plan similar to what the group Our Valley, Our Future has put together for the Wenatchee Valley. OVOF Head Steve Maher spoke to the city council at its workshop last Tuesday, and explained how they did their action plan, which involved much community outreach. In their first action plan, which was retired in 2021, four of what they called “game-changers,” of which there were seven, were achieved, as were 94 of the 161 projects in the action plan. Council members were impressed, and City Administrator Wade Farris said a five-year action plan for Chelan was something worth looking at:

At the workshop, Maher said more than 100 million dollars in grants and other funding had been received by lead partner organizations for projects and programs listed in the action plans.
