BODY OF MISSING MAN RECOVERED IN CRESENT BAR AREA

After around 36-hours of searching, authorities have located the body of a male who went missing in the Columbia River near Crescent Bar, presumed to have drowned on Saturday evening.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office announced on Monday at approximately 12:45 p.m. that the missing rafter's body was found with the assistance of the King County Sheriff's dive team. Grant County Sheriff spokesperson Kyle Foreman revealed that the body was discovered in close proximity to the area where he had disappeared.

The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, when the male was on a floating raft approximately 50 to 100 yards from the Willow Beach shore. His raft overturned, causing him to fall into the water. The authorities will release the subject's name and place of residence at a later time, allowing them to inform his family and friends before making a public announcement.
