BIG BOAT THROUGH DOWNTOWN TUESDAY WAS FOR STEHEKIN FERRY

You may have noticed a big boat being driven through Chelan to Don Morse Park on Tuesday. That boat is for the Stehekin Ferry, a relatively new service that runs daily from Stehekin to Fields Point and back. Cliff Courtney is the owner of Stehekin Ferry:

For those who don't know, Stehekin Ferry has been operating since 2020, that's when they were awarded the certificate to operate on Lake Chelan. Courtney says they are not in competition with the Lake Chelan Boat Company, which runs the Lake of the Lake:

The new boat will be the primary carrier for Stehekin Ferry, and will take over for their current boat, the Sunny Jo; Courtney says there are differences between the two:

The new boat, called the Stehekin Clipper, was constructed in Orondo, and shipped up to Chelan in parts. www.stehekinferry.com is their website, if you'd like to know more.
