Chelan County has a new Sheriff, Mike Morrison assumed the position on Tuesday after taking the oath of office last month. Sheriff's Sergeant Rob Huddleston says most of the sheriff's work so far has been in organizing his staff and deciding who he wants working with him:
But the sergeant says Morrison will be taking over one unit:
Huddleston says he'll be taking over the Chelan detail, so you'll be seeing him around. In other news, the New Year's weekend was a quiet one from a law enforcement standpoint, and the sergeant says things generally are fairly quiet this time of year – and that includes the upcoming Winterfest later this month in Chelan and Manson. Huddleston says he wouldn't mind having Winterfest every weekend during the summer.
