[4/15/22] Okanogan Valley Bass Club Scholarship Available

Posted in Education, Sports

If you have a high school senior at home interested in bass fishing, the Okanogan Valley Bass Club has a scholarship you should know about, and the deadline to apply is coming up fast. Craig Randall is the club’s president:

Last year’s recipient, Logan Clarke, is attending Eastern Washington University and in their bass fishing team. Randall says the sport is growing at a good clip:

Randall says you don’t have to use the 15-hundred dollars to pursue bass fishing in college, but if you say you will in your application, he says you’ll be moved to the top of the list. The scholarship is open to any senior attending Brewster, Pateros, Chelan, Entiat, Republic, Oroville, Tonasket, Omak, Okanogan, Liberty Bell, Mansfield, Lake Roosevelt, Wenatchee or Eastmont High Schools. Along with the application, the applicant must submit an essay explaining his or her relationship with bass fishing:

So far no applications have been received, so you’ve got a good shot right now; Randall says if no scholarship is awarded this year, it will be rolled over to next year and two will be given out. Applications have been sent out to the various schools we’ve mentioned; it’s also available at okanoganvalleybassclub.com. The applications need to be postmarked no later than May 1st.
