[7/20/16] New Chelan Fire and Rescue Engine Arrives

It’s a classic case of out with the old—in with the new- as Chelan Fire District 7 celebrated the arrival of a firetruck yesterday afternoon.

The newest addition to Chelan 7’s fleet is a 92 Seagrave structural attack engine with the capability to pump 1500 gallons per minute.

The new firetruck is replacing an older firetruck that is no longer functional. That truck, Fire District 7 Chief, Tim Lemon says, has already made its way to its new home…

Chelan County Fire District 7 covers 125 square miles around Lake Chelan and surrounding areas including the City of Chelan, Chelan Falls, Union Valley, South Lake Shore, 25-mile creek, the north side of Lake Chelan from the City of Chelan to Manson, the Chelan Aiport and Howard Flats up to the Chelan/Okanogan County line.

The district operates 5 fire stations with 6 fire engines, 3 water tenders, 4 wildland fire engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 heavy rescue/special operations vehicle, 2 command vehicles, 1 support vehicle and a rescue boat.
