Home builders across north central Washington are talking about two things this week: weather, and Marson & Marson Lumber.

Earlier this week, Ken Marson, President of Marson & Marson Lumber- announced the four-store chain of retail building material centers had reached an agreement, in principal, with Tum A Lum Lumber, which has locations in Hood River, The Dalles and Pendleton Oregon.

Ken says it’s likely you won’t even notice the change…

Ken says it wasn’t an easy decision to sell the company, founded by his father and uncle in 1955, but as the family looked into the future, they felt this was the right decision…

After a short transition period, Marson & Marson will begin operations as part of the Tum A Lum family of companies, on January 3rd.

Similar to Marson & Marson, Tum A Lum is a family owned business – 4th generation, in fact -founded in 1906 by J. M. Crawford.

Current CEO, David Dittmer, says “Marson & Marson is the top supplier of building materials in the market area they serve. Because of their strong brand recognition, they will continue to operate under the name, Marson & Marson.

The communities they operate in are very similar to the Tum A Lum markets. They are a great fit for our organization and we are excited to join forces with Marson & Marson.”
