[11/19/21] Manson Growth Could Stretch Wildfire Resources

Posted in Fire and EMS

In the event of a wildfire coming towards Manson, they’ll have to be more efficient with the resources available to provide structure protection, Chief Arnold Baker says that an area that had 60 homes some twenty years ago now has 200, which means that with a third alarm, whatever resources Baker has at his disposal will have to be spread out more:

Baker says once the fire front has passed by comes the risky part with the embers that have fallen on a homeowner’s property. Somebody has to watch those embers to make sure a one-gallon fire doesn’t turn into a thousand gallon fire and cause damage.
