[1/24/22] Legislative Update – Week Two

Week two of the legislative session in Olympia went by pretty quickly, but several things did happen on the House side, perhaps most importantly the delay of the long-care tax program that was supposed to go into effect this year. 12th District Representative Mike Steele says the delay is a good idea:

Steele’s 12th District colleague Keith Goehner mentioned a bill in the House Environment Committee that would put a moratorium on siting of alternative energy facilities:

Goehner says with this being a short session, things are moving at what he called a lightning pace, and he’s fearful that some of the issues on the table are in danger of being worked on too quickly:
