[10/3/16] Lake Chelan Hospital Holds Meetings: Tonight In Manson, Tomorrow In Chelan
The Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board reviewed facility options and costs at its meeting last Tuesday. Already rebuffed twice by voters in its efforts to build a new hospital, Hospital CEO Kevin Abel says things have come to the point where doing nothing is not an option – and Abel says there are five options the hospital is considering:
1003 Hospital Options 1 1:03 Q:”apple blossom site” (2nd)
Price tags on the options range from 14-point-two million dollars for the infrastructure upgrade to 51-and-a-half million dollars for a new hospital and clinic. The hospital board is now asking for your input on those five options, and is holding two community forums this week: tomorrow (Tue) at the Manson Grange, and Wednesday at the Chelan Senior Center. Both meetings begin at 5:30. Details on the five options are available on the hospital’s website.
In other hospital news, the board decided to purchase a bone density scanner used to screen for fracture risk and osteoporosis. The price tag on the GE Prodigy scanner is 52-thousand dollars; they’re expecting to install it in about a month.
