This intimate documentary from Benjamin Ree charts his rise to fame and his all-important appearance at the 2013 World Championship event. Bullied and outcast as an oddball by his peers, Norwegian-born Magnus was slow to develop. Today, at 26, he travels the world as the chess world’s most celebrated rock star since Bobby Fischer, having reached the highest-ever rating in the history of the sport. He can play (and win) 10 games in his head at once, blindfolded with his back to his opponents – brain-boggling feats accomplished by a strikingly “normal” young man.
