Eli Klemmeck presents “Some Abnormal Growth” a solo show of works created during his 3 month residency in the Gift Shop at Confluence Gallery. Whimsical and surreal, with a touch of the dark and mysterious, Klemmeck draws much of his inspiration from the natural world adding his own twist of otherworldly imagination.

Artist Statement:

These drawings are the faintly enigmatic blooming of life within the dark; the portrayal of beauty in the unfamiliar and mysterious. I draw foremost from my personal experience and emotion. My muses are the celestial, flora, fauna, everything I don’t understand and the people in my life I hold dearest. I have been working with pen and ink consistently for the last 283 days as part of my 365 days of drawing project. The journey of creating a new drawing everyday has been such an incredible experience of personal growth and improvement. My heart goes out to all those who have believed in me and helped to make my dreams a reality.
