[11/28/16] Echo Ridge Nordic Ski Area Purchasing New Equipment And Hosting Ski Loppet

Posted in Recreation

Thanks to the generosity of dozens of Chelan area residents and visitors, those who prefer cross country skiing over snowmobiling, can count on quality trail grooming at Echo Ridge this year, and beyond.

The Lake Chelan Nordic Club, partnering with Lake Chelan Recreation Development Foundation, has reached their fundraising goal to purchase replacement grooming equipment.

The club will also be purchasing an ATV to pull a brand new groomer.

The non-profit Lake Chelan Nordic Ski Club operates the grooming progaram for approximately 30 miles of ski trail at the Echo Ridge Nordic area under a unique cooperative agreement with the US Forest Servce.

The result of the club and the forest service working together has made Echo Ridge one of the best nordic ski areas in the region.

Thanks to generosity of donors, you can expect that reputation to carry on for years.

The club hopes to receive the new equipment –and plenty of snow– in time for the upcoming Christmas holiday when hundreds of outdoor enthusiasts will visit the Lake Chelan Valley.

The Lake Chelan Nordic Club will be hosting a non competitive Ski Loppet on January 7 at the Echo Ridge Nordic area.

Three loops will be available to choose from. Loppet tickets are just $20 plus a $10 ski pass for non season pass holders. Kids ski free.

You can register for the January 7 Ski Loppet on line at www.lakechelannordic.org.
