[3/14/22] Douglas County Hazardous Waste Disposal Event Scheduled

Posted in Environment

If you live in Douglas County, be going through your garage and workbench and shed and places, and be looking for hazardous waste items. You’ll be able to bring them in for disposal later this month. Douglas County Commissioner Marc Straub:

It only happens once a year, it happens Saturday March 26th from 8 am to 2 pm at the East Wenatchee City Hall on 9th Street. It’s only for Douglas County residents, and it’s probably a good idea to have some proof of residency with you. More information is available by calling Christina at Douglas County Solid Waste, at 509-886-0899.

More from Douglas County: they have a new Interim Land Services Director, Perry Huston. Straub says Huston is no stranger to North Central Washington:

Straub says Huston’s appointment will allow the County Commission to take their time in finding a permanent director. The County’s Land Services division encompasses the building services division, as well as the planning, zoning and long range planning divisions.
