[1/31/22] COVID Case Rates Jump

The COVID case rates have zoomed upward again. The Chelan-Douglas Health District reports a two-week case rate of 3,324 per hundred thousand residents as of Monday. That’s up from 2,726 last Monday the 17th. For the two weeks ending Monday, there were 4,102 new cases reported; 2,728 in Chelan County, 1,374 in Douglas County. Vaccination rates are up slightly, 69 percent with one jab in Chelan county, 62 percent in Douglas; those fully vaccinated make up 63 and a half percent in Chelan county, 57 percent in Douglas.

In Okanogan County, the case rate has almost doubled, from 1,275 cases per hundred thousand last Thursday to 2,145 cases per hundred thousand as of Tuesday. Between last Wednesday and Tuesday, 135 cases were reported in Omak, 102 in Brewster, 83 in Oroville, 67 In Tonasket, 62 in Twisp, 48 in Winthrop and 47 in Okanogan. And vaccination rates in Okanogan County are unchanged, 53 percent with one jab, 47 percent fully jabbed.
