Posted in Health

It’s been a while since we’ve talked about COVID case numbers, they are down substantially from the last time we looked more than a month ago. The Chelan-Douglas Health District reports the latest two week number as of last Monday is 485 per hundred thousand residents, down from 690 per hundred thousand on February 28th. There were 427 new cases reported in the two weeks ending on Thursday, 276 in Chelan County, 151 in Douglas. As for vaccination rates, 72 and a half percent in Chelan County had had one shot, almost 65 percent in Douglas county; those fully vaxxed make up 66 and a half percent in Chelan County, 60 percent in Douglas.

In Okanogan County, the latest numbers are from March 2nd, a two week incidence rate of 466 per hundred thousand residents, with 201 new cases reported between February 16th and March 1st. Vaccination rates in Okanogan County are virtually unchanged, though, 54 percent with one jab, 49 percent fully vaccinated. Those numbers from Okanogan County Public Health.
