[11/19/21] Conviction Upheld For 2016 Gebbers Murder Attempt

An Okanogan County man’s conviction for trying to kill the head of the Brewster-based Gebbers Farms agriculture firm has been upheld.

The state Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that 51 year old Mark Reynolds Worth failed to show his 2019 trial in Okanogan County Superior Court was unfair. In September 2016, Worth drove alongside Gebbers Farms CEO Cass Gebbers on Old Highway 97 near Brewster Flats, and opened fire with a handgun.

Gebbers was not struck, but received minor injuries from broken glass. Investigators said Worth had previously stalked and harassed Gebbers and members of his family.

A jury convicted Worth of attempted first-degree murder and drive-by shooting in August 2019. He’s now serving a 25 year prison sentence.
