[6/3/16] Click It Or Ticket Campaign- HS Study

Posted in Law Enforcement, TransportationTagged , , ,

Saving lives is the focus of the Click it or Ticket campaign, which launched last week– a nationwide campaign encourages everyone to wear their seat belt on every trip.

100 percent seat belt compliance is part of Washington State’s Target Zero strategic highway safety plan. And, thanks, in part, to the annual Click It or Ticket campaign, the 2015 Washington seat belt use rate was 95%- compared to a nationwide rate of 89%.

And as part of this year’s campaign, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, has enlisted the help of a senior at Asotin High School as their spokesperson after she completed a year long seat belt initiative project at her school.

Stanzi Hay, who will graduate from Asotin High School this Saturday, explains that her passion for safe driving began when she became involved in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America…

Stanzi hosted several projects, including a Seat belt Saves Challenge…

Stanzi says she was thrilled when she heard the news that she would serve as this year’s Click It or Ticket Campaign Spokesperson…

As part of the Click It or Ticket Campaign- extra patrols will run until June 5th in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan Counties.

The Campaign is part of Target Zero– striving to end traffic deaths and serious injuries in the state of Washington by 2030.
