The Chelan-Douglas Land Trust’s recent purchase of just over 100 acres in the Sage Hills area, which closed the only remaining gap in over 3,000 contiguous acres of wildlife habitat, isn’t the last acquisition the organization is looking to make in the area.

The land trust’s new Executive Director Curt Soper (soap-er) shares those details…

Soper also said the land trust is eyeing a piece of the Wenatchee River that could be obtained with the help of funding from the State…

As for the group’s long-term goals, Soper says the land trust has a solid five-year plan in place…

Soper is a native of the Pacific Northwest and comes to the land trust after being employed in the field of land management for the State of Georgia. He has also worked for the Nature Conservancy and The Trust for Public Lands.
