Zombie Fun Run and Festival 11/1/2013

This last Saturday was the Zombie Fun Run and Festival in over in Omak. People showed up in costume and ran 1.5 miles while also donating food to the food bank. There were 122 participants who signed up for the Fun Run. The first place finisher was Sunny Sellars who received a $25 gift certificate from Big 5.

The Omak High School Drama Club were responsible for the zombies, who looked almost too real. There were costume contests ranging everywhere from people dressing up their dogs, kids, and themselves. Each with a sweet award of candy or a dog bone in one case, and a participation trophy.

The Halloween Harvest Festival pumpkin pie contest winner was Kiwanis Key Club member Karen Delgado.

The event was sponsored by the Omak Chamber of Commerce, City of Omak, and Omak School District Fit for Life Community Coalition. There is talk of an even bigger Zombie Fun Run event next year since it was such a great success this year.
