Detectives Get Limit Of 5 Years 8/9/2013
Chelan CountySheriff’s officials are implementing a new policy athat will change who gets to do detective work, and how long they get to do it.


Until now, detectives, who usually handle more thorny cases requiring more investigation, are appointed and remain in the position for as long as they like. 
But, ChelanCounty Sheriff, Brian Burnett says he feels that policy impedes on the advancement for deputies, and can lead to burnt-out for those on regular patrol...


Burnett says the new policy gives detectives a maximum of five years of service, at which time, they will return to patrol duty.
