EARLY WEDNESDAY OVER MOST OF EASTERN WASHINGTON...

.AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL SWEEP THROUGH THE INLAND NORTHWEST
TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY RESULTING IN A
SIGNIFICANT THREAT OF LIGHTNING OVER MOST OF EASTERN WASHINGTON
AND NORTH IDAHO. WHILE LIGHTNING WILL BE POSSIBLE JUST ABOUT
EVERYWHERE...THE THREAT OF SIGNIFICANT FIRE STARTS WILL BE
LIMITED TO LOCATIONS CONTAINING DRY FUELS. THIS INCLUDES THE
PALOUSE...SPOKANE AREA...COLUMBIA BASIN...CASCADE VALLEYS...AND
OKANOGAN VALLEY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPOKANE HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO
2 PM PDT WEDNESDAY. THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* AFFECTED AREA: FIRE WEATHER ZONE 684 EAST WASHINGTON
  OKANOGAN/METHOW VALLEYS (ZONE 684).

* TIMING/THUNDERSTORMS: HIGH BASED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP OVER
  THE COLUMBIA BASIN TUESDAY EVENING THEN SPREAD INTO THE OKANOGAN
  AND METHOW VALLEYS OVERNIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.
  THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY TAPER OFF DURING THE LATE MORNING...
  BUT SUNBREAKS COULD LEAD TO REDEVELOPING STORMS DURING THE
  AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

* OUTFLOW WINDS: ERRATIC AND GUSTY WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN AND
  AROUND THE THUNDERSTORMS. WIND GUSTS COULD APPROACH 30 TO 40
  MPH.

* IMPACTS: ABUNDANT LIGHTNING STRIKES COUPLED WITH LITTLE RAINFALL
  COULD LEAD TO NUMEROUS FIRE STARTS ACROSS THE METHOW AND
  OKANOGAN VALLEYS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
WILL OCCUR WITHIN THE DESIGNATED TIME PERIOD. ABUNDANT LIGHTNING
AND SUFFICIENTLY DRY FUELS MAY PRODUCE IGNITIONS THAT MAY
OVERWHELM INITIAL SUPPRESSION EFFORTS.
