Manson Fire 5 Will Ask For Bond &Levy 6/5/2013
The Chelan County Fire District 5- out of Manson- has announced that they will be asking voters for approval of a facilities bond as well as a levy lid lift on the upcoming primary ballot.
The district called in a consultant, who recommended the district develop a taskforce of community leaders, business people and others who have no involvement or influence by the fire department- and gave them a mission- asking for an independent recommendation on what they, as citizens and members of the Manson community believe the level of service should be.
The consultant, Bob Merritt, Senior Consultant for mHc Associates, says he asked the taskforce two questions.
Merritt says that the taskforce then came up with eight recommendations.
Manson Fire Chief, Arnold Baker, says that after gathering input from the taskforce, Fire District 5 will now ask voters to approve two propositions: a $4.135 million bond and a levy lid lift that will add 56 cents per thousand of assessed value.
