Brewster PD At Full Force = Less Overtime 4/30/2013
After being in the spotlight and under fire over the past year after the previous Brewster City Council eliminated a sixth officer position from the Brewster Police Department- the Brewster Police Department is now about three months into being back to full force with the hiring of a sixth officer.
Mayor Webster says that the City is already seeing the benefits of a sixth officer- with lower overtime payments- adding that while the force was operating with five officers- monthly overtime costs were about $4 thousand.
Mayor Webster adds that there has been a recent rash of vehicle prowls and stolen items- and is asking residents to be diligent and to report any suspicious situations.
If anyone has any information on the recent vehicle prowls in Brewster- please call the Brewster Police Department at 689-2331.
