Anyone traveling through Twisp in the early morning hours this Sunday, is in for a unique treat – a local rancher will be proving that the wild west is alive and well in the Methow Valley with a good ole’ Cattle Drive.
150 cows and their calves will make the 9 mile trek through town- as they do every Spring- as ranchers move their herd from winter pasture to summer pasture.
Shauna Hicks, who co-manages the Lazy 3 Ranch with her husband, says they start their day before 5AM.
The ranch has been moving their cows through the Town of Twisp for the past 18-years, a tradition that the managers say they will continue.
Sunday’s cattle drive will begin at about 5am and, cows will likely be off the highway by 9am.
