Bridgeport Hosts Healthcare Grant Meeting 4/2/2013
Bridgeport officials are hoping for a large turnout at tonight’s public meeting hosted by Family Health Centers as the city continues its quest for additional, preventive healthcare services with the help of a REACH grant.
REACH- which stands for Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health – is a federal grant opportunity through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Bridgeport Mayor, Marilynn Lynn, says tonight’s meeting will focus on the community participation aspect involved with this grant.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention will be funding five projects in Idaho, New Mexico and Washington, and Mayor Lynn says Bridgeport fits right into the grant criteria.
Tonight’s REACH grant meeting will be held at 6 PM the EPIC Child Development Center at 1400 Columbia Street in Bridgeport- and the public is encouraged to attend to take part in the possibility of bringing preventive healthcare services to Bridgeport.
