The February Pateros Council meeting started off with a bang last week – when council approved a favorable budget amendment – an additional $63 thousand from Douglas County PUD as part of an Operation and Maintenance Agreement.
Pateros Mayor, Gail Howe, says the agreement is part of the Wells Dam Relicensing.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), issued Douglas PUD a 50-year license to operate the Wells Project which expired on May 31, 2012. As part of the new agreement, the City of Pateros will receive about $63 thousand annually to maintain and operate the park along the Columbia River.
