A Chelan County Sheriff Deputy shot and killed a cougar early this morning at a residence in Manson near the downtown parks.

 

Chelan County Sheriff north Sergeant, Rob Huddleston, told KOZI that Rivercom dispatched deputies to the scene shortly after 2:30 this morning after the cougar killed a small dog and caused minor injuries to the homeowner.

 

Huddleston says that although incidents involving cougars are not unheard of in ChelanCounty- it is a rare occurrence in Manson.

 

The homeowner received stitches for her injuries.
