The Bridgeport City Council is holding a public hearing regarding the recently imposed moratorium surrounding the passage if Initiative 502- which legalized recreational use of marijuana.
Bridgeport Mayor, Marilyn Lynn, says moratoriums are a way to delay or suspend activity to allow ordinances to be developed.
In this case, Mayor Lynn says the moratorium will allow the state time to hammer out the details regarding the new law before the city attempts to create local regulations.
The Bridgeport City Council plans to use feedback and information from tomorrow night’s public hearing to help develop the more permanent ordinances regarding the use, sale and distribution of marijuana inside city limits. Tomorrow’s public hearing will begin at 7PM in council chambers at BridgeportCity Hall, and will be followed by the regularly scheduled council meeting.
