After waiting more than a year and a half- the Entiat City Council expects to receive a permit from the Corp of Engineers that would allow them to move forward with $10 million worth of projects in the city.
Included in those projects are two trails and a major upgrade to the EntiatPark.
Chelan County PUD has been working with the Entiat Community on plans to revitalize the park for several years, and according to Entiat Mayor, Keith Vradenburg, the permits have been the primary hold-up.
Vradenburg adds that plans call to keep the park open for use in 2013- closing right after Labor Day.
New features in the park will include a picnic shelter and comfort station as well as new overnight camping. A boat launch lane and new floats will be added, along with expanded parking for boat trailers.
