December’s NewtownConnecticut school shooting spree reignited the national gun debate- but it has also prompted MethowValleySchool District in taking a hard look at its counseling services in an attempt to determine how the district can better meet the needs of students with social and emotional troubles.
Methow Valley Superintendent, Mark Wenzel, says the issue is not a new one- but was recently brought back into the spotlight.
Wenzel says the school board will continue to formulate and fine tune an appropriate plan that will be ready to implement for the 2013-2014 school year.
