MansonSchool’s held their District Spelling Bee last week- with two students emerging as the champions.
Eighth grader, Spencer Ward earned the first place spot, with fourth grader Malachi Sanchez grabbing the second place seat.
The winners out-spelled 20 contenders before facing each other in a spell-off that lasted 21 tough words.
Rosanna Pittman, who organizes the event, told KOZI that the competition starts with the person announces the word that the students must spell.
Spencer and Malachi will now join students from each registered school in the region on Thursday, March 21st to compete in the North Central Washington Regional Spelling Bee, which is sponsored by the Washington Apple Education Foundation at Eastmont Junior High Auditorium.
