Community Mourns Administrator's Death 2/8/2013
More details have emerged from yesterday morning’s tragic accident that claimed the life of Omak School District Superintendent Dr. Art Himmler.
 
The accident occurred at about 7AM yesterday morning, 2-miles south of Pateros.
 
The Washington State Patrol says the 2008 Ford F150 pickup, driven by Himmler, was traveling southbound on Highway 97 when he lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle and was ejected from the pickup.
 
It is not known if Himmler was wearing a seatbelt.
 
Himmler served as Superintendent of Omak since 2009- before that he was superintendent for the Steilacoom Historical School District.
