Chelan, along with several other surrounding communities, is discussing options regarding law enforcement.

 

For some, such as Twisp and Winthrop, it’s a consideration of contracting with Okanogan county sheriff’s office to alleviate some ongoing issues with their towns’ current police force.

 

But, according to Chelan City Administrator, Paul Schmidt, for Chelan, Leavenworth, Entiat and Cashmere, it’s a matter of law enforcement services with ChelanCounty Sheriff’s Office getting too costly.

 

As, usual, we will have City officials in studio Friday morning, shortly after 8am – when we will likely discuss the issue a bit more.
