Although it is not quite golf season, the City of Chelan was recently faced with a decision that will greatly impact the city owned golf course as well as its golfers.
City officials announced that they will not seek outside management, and will instead turn their attention to a few key concerns regarding the Lake Chelan Municipal Golf Course.
The decision comes after several public meetings that brought with it some turmoil, as the city entertained the idea of bringing in an outside management firm.
City Administrator, Paul Schmidt, says the city will continue to operate the course for 2013, with two primary goals.
The discussion of possible alternative golf course management options was spurred by the upcoming retirement of the current greens keeper, who is leaving his position in July.
