The Chelan City Council agreed to move forward in seeking a competitive bid for construction of the new library to be housed in the old MasonicTemple building.
The council made the decision during their regular council meeting last week, after a presentation by the architect, as well as representatives from the Friends of the Library- who spearheaded the efforts to relocate the library.
City Administrator, Paul Schmidt, says collectively- the construction budget sits at about $712 thousand.
The library’s new location is expected to be completed and ready by the end of the summer.
