Chelan CountyPUD finds strengths and areas for improvement after findings were revealed from a recent database comparison, with Lake Chelan Dam jumping to the top of the list.
The Public Utilities District jumped back into benchmarking after taking a decade off- and compared their production standards to those of similar energy producers around the world.
PUD Commissioner, Dennis Bolz, says the district reinstated the benchmarking process after General Manager, John Janney, felt there was value in the process.
Results found production costs are better than average for both Rocky Reach and Lake Chelan Dams, but the two Rock Island Dam powerhouses are higher cost than the average for plants of similar size.
Bolz says the outcome from benchmarking has proven beneficial for the district.
Join us tomorrow morning at about 8:30, when we will have representatives from Chelan CountyPUD on-air to update us on what’s happening in the district.
