The Town of Twisp and Okanogan County Fire District 6 continue to hammer out details on a contract for fire service that would have District 6 responding to all fire and aid calls within Town limits.
The negotiations began in October- and it appears there is light at the end of the tunnel- with both entities agreeing on a price of $35 thousand for the first year of service, with an annual increase each year for the five year contract.
Twisp Mayor, Soo Ing-Moody, told KOZI that the council reviewed the latest contract at their Tuesday meeting, and had questions surrounding the wording of one portion.
Also included in the contract is a 1-year opt out option, should the Town of Twisp decide to reinstate their own fire department.
