As part of the regular Chelan Fire District 7 board meeting last week, the board of commissioners reviewed financing for current lease agreements for fire apparatus.
Chelan Fire Chief, Tim Lemon, told KOZI that part of the overall picture that the district was looking at with the lid lift levy was to pay the leases off.
Despite the term “lease”- the agreement is actually similar to that of car loan- in that the apparatus is owned outright by the fire district when the final lease payment is made.
Chief Lemon, says the District is currently contracted for two “lease for fire apparatus” agreements.
Chief Lemon adds that when the light brush trucks were added to the fleet, District 7 staff was very involved in the project.
District 7 Fire Board of Commissioners meet the second Wednesday of each month, making their next meeting Wednesday, February 13th.
