The Twisp Town Council will offer residents the opportunity to comment on a request from the North Central ATV Club to open town streets to off road vehicles at a meeting tomorrow that will be hosted at the TwispSeniorCenter to accommodate an expected high turnout.
WashingtonState law allows cities and towns with a population of less than 3 thousand to allocate streets for ATV use. The City of Okanogan, the town of Concunully and the town of Loomis have all approved street use by off road vehicles.
Twisp Town Clerk, Jackie Moriarty, says the issue was put on hold after it was originally brought before the Town Council back in September.
The ATV club made a similar request to the Town of Winthrop, which was voted down in November.
Tomorrow’s regular Twisp town council meeting will start with the public comment period regarding the off road vehicle use on Town streets, and will be held at 7PM at the TwispSeniorCenter.
