Council Keeps Woodin Bridge A Priority 1/7/2013
The City of Chelan continues in its quest for improvements to the WoodinAvenueBridge- and is looking to have a consultant work on a preliminary design.

The City plans to fund the project with a Public Works Trust Fund loan, but is also making back-up plans for Reid money.

A Woodin Avenue Widening Feasibility Study was completed in November 2010- with funding being the primary hold-up for the project.

Chelan Mayor, Bob Goedde, says the project has been a priority for the city for a long time now.

The project will bring improvements from pedestrian safety, to appearance and even economically for the downtown businesses.

Goedde adds that the bridge is used for more than just a corridor into the historic downtown area.

The Chelan City Council will continue to keep the bridge as a priority, and is hoping to see some action through 2013.
