It’s a preventable problem and although the proportion of crashes that are alcohol related has dropped dramatically in recent years, impaired driving remains a serious national problem that tragically effects many victims annually.
And those numbers skyrocket during the last few weeks of each year with holiday parties leading up to the New Year celebration.
ChelanCounty North Sergeant, Rob Huddleston, says that it really boils down to the fact that there is no reason t get behind the wheel if you have been drinking, and adds that deputies will be on the look-out.
WashingtonState ranks as the third highest for vehicle crashes that involved alcohol, with 42%. Behind Hawaii, where 48% of all vehicle crashes involved alcohol and Connecticut, where 44% involved drivers under the influence.
