At about 2 o clock yesterday afternoon, a minor earthquake hit the Douglas County side of the Columbia River, about 7 and a half miles southwest of the City of Chelan.
The earthquake is being reported at a 2.8 magnitude, however, Bill Steele with the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network told KOZI that originally it was thought to be a bit larger.
Those who have been in contact with KOZI who say they felt the earthquake, including Chuck at Orondo Ciderworks- which is right about the center of quake- say they thought it was likely a snow plow working.
