The City of Entiat is looking for ways to fund their yearly jail fees that have jumped from $3000 in past years, to more than $20 thousand this year.

 

As part of the interlocal agreement between the ChelanCounty Sheriff’s Office and the cities that contract with them, each city must pay the jail fees for any misdemeanor arrests made within their city limits.

 

Entiat Mayor, Keith Vradenburg, says the difference the county is charging the city this year compared to last year is detrimental to the city’s budget.

 

The ChelanCounty Regional jail is a 383 bed adult correctional facility that is currently housing about 260 inmates.
