The ChelanSchool District is considering whether to ask voters to approve a capital levy, which essentially would replace the expiring bond.
The $5.5 million bond paid for the new property and fields near apple blossom drive, the bus carve-out at Morgan Owings Elementary, kitchen enhancement and the remodel of the community gym, and is set to expire this month.
Chelan Superintendent, Rob Manahan, told KOZI that a long range facilities group has developed a list of needs- and problems due to overcrowding continue to rise to the top.
Although the ChelanSchool board is leaning heavily towards the capital levy, Manahan points out that it will not be official until they make a resolution at their meeting next week, but there is a lot of energy regarding the possibility.
The School board will make their decision, and likely a resolution will be passed at their next meeting, which is set for Tuesday, December 11th at 6PM at the Chelan District office.
