Golf Course Management Meeting Thursday 12/3/2012
The City of Chelan will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday to take part in what they expect to be a lively discussion regarding management practices at the city owned golf course as they work through a process to improve operations.
ChelanCity Administrator, Paul Schmidt, says the meeting is a special session council meeting that will allow for the continuation of the discussion regarding alternative golf course management options.
In November, 2005, Washington voters approved Initiative 900, which requires the state to carry out Performance Audits.
Among other items, those audits must include cost savings, identification of services that can be transferred to the private sector, overlapped services, and the analysis of roles and functions within departments.
Chelan Mayor, Bob Goedde, says all city departments will be going through the same process, but with some changes coming to the golf course, that is where they decided to start.
This weeks meeting will begin at 6 PM and will last no longer that two hours. It will be held at City Hall in Council Chambers on Johnson Avenue.
