Bridgeport City Council put a final stamp of approval on an ordinance change at Wednesday’s council meeting, with their second reading of a zoning map amendment that will allow for a light industrial zone inside city limits.
The long awaited zoning designates an area for light industrial operations on the outskirts of the city- a move city officials hope will bring new businesses to their community.
Bridgeport’s Mayor, Marilynn Lynn, told KOZI that once a year municipalities have the opportunity to amend their current comprehensive plan.
The notice must now be posted for five days before the amendment takes effect.
