Tonight’s Bridgeport City Council meeting will primarily consist of amendments to current city ordinances, but one in particular, the zoning map amendment, puts a sparkle in the eyes of city officials.
The zoning amendment will allow for a light industrial zone in the City of Bridgeport – a big step forward for the council who has made it a priority to bring businesses and residents to their community.
A light industrial zone would designate an area for industrial operations on the outskirts of the city, with good transportation access in hopes of attracting new businesses to the area.
Bridgeport Mayor, Marilynn Lynn, says the industrial zone will be a change for the city, but a very welcomed one.
Tonight’s Bridgeport City Council meeting starts at 7PM at BridgeportCity Hall.
