A 37 year old Entiat woman was killed yesterday morning in a fiery crash on Highway 97A two miles south of Entiat shortly before 8AM.
Washington State Patrol reported that Summer Diehm was pronounced dead at the scene after the van she was driving collided head on with a pick-up.
According to the report, 23-year old Brandon Feldhaus was traveling northbound when his Ford Ranger crossed the centerline striking the van driven by Diehm.
Shortly after the collision, Feldhaus’ pickup burst into flames, but he was able to escape and was transported to CentralWashingtonHospital and was listed in satisfactory condition yesterday evening.
Both Feldhaus and Diehm were wearing seatbelts.
The accident blocked all traffic on highway 97A for just more than an hour before one lane traffic control was allowed for another three hours.
